Seguin and Gaudreau would be in my top 25 or 30, who would you take off the list in favour of them?
Toews started off the season badly, but caught fire and was one of the best players in the NHL in the second half. He certainly didn't have the best playoffs of his career, but I think he'll be back to being one of the best players in the NHL next season.

I would still say that McDonagh is better then Ekblad. Neither are top 20 players or even top 50 players in the NHL though in my opinion.

Also, i forgot Gaudreau on my list. He'd go right ahead of Benn for me probably.

Ekblad not a top 50 player? He will win multiple norris trophies.

Also Ovechkin is definitely not the fourth best player in the world anymore.

He's better than he used to be in my opinion. He's playing a great all-round game where he used to be more of just a scorer.

The list isn't about how good they might be in the future, otherwise Burns, Getzlaf etc. wouldn't make it. Ekblad could very well become a top five d-man in the NHL, but he isn't right now. Also I doubt he will win multiple Norris' with Karlsson, Hedman, Werenski etc. for competition, maybe one or two if he's very lucky.

I think it mean the best non-goalies.

If we are talking about pure skating ability, McDavid, Hagelin, Larkin and Kucherov come to mind. If we are talking about players, McDavid, Crosby and Karlsson are the top 3.
