Laaksonen will not make the Sabres, he’s so bad at defending and is really only good on the power play. He also wouldn’t get PP time with Dahlin/Power.

Can't sign Johnson to a 3yr, would only be a 2yr ELC

If he is signed soon after graduating it could be three years as he turns 22 on July 24, 2023.
"The length of the ELC depends on the age of the player. Here is a breakdown of the contract length:

18-21 years of age: 3 years
22-23 years of age: 2 years
24 years of age: 1 year"

But, the Sabre rights to him expire on August 15, 2023, four years after he was drafted, then whichever team signs him can only sign him to a two year contract as he will be 22 yo.
