We certainly need a goalie, but a 34-year-old rental backup shouldn't be worth a second and a third. I think that a third and a fourth is a fair price.

I wonder if in the offseason LA might be in on Vladar. They could trade one of their forwards that they have a surplus of. I bet Calgary would rather keep Vladar but they might be able to sell him kind of high and let Wolf be the back up if they feel he's ready for that. It's an idea I thought about today, probably just need to find a home for Peterson.

Would the islanders possibly have interest in Barrie? He could be a replacement for Mayfield, generate some offence from the back end and could be traded at the next deadline as well. Also could probably charge a bit more of a premium to take on his contract.

he has better numbers than fleury last year and is at a lower cap hit and fleury got a 2nd (conditional first). maybe just a second and not a second and third but i think a second is fair. he doesn’t have the name value fleury did tho.

i could see a world where they’d be interested in barrie, especially since he just has one year left after this one. would be an expensive third pair guy but with aho/salo/bolduc and romanov all at basically 3.25 combined i could see them investing a bit more on the right to keep pulock off the PP and give him more minutes at 5v5 and on the PK. don’t think they’d make a move specifically to acquire him but i could see a mayfield deal including him in it.

I don’t I doubt they get another all offense no defense guy just doesn’t fit anyone’s MO. As for varly he’s putting up really good numbers even if he doesn’t have the biggest workload. If this was the best deal I’d take it but I’d be looking for a 1st or a prospect equivalent to a 1st.
