COL trade not really a fit for the Avs. I doubt CHI is a preferred destination for Sakic

That is true but it may be his best option. Panarin's a top 10 scorer in the league. There's a lot of value in that.

Pretty good. The only concern is timing. it would have to be after expansion other wise they can't protect everyone they want to.

What's additionally nice (for another team) about a Panarin trade is that you could trade him to a team that has too many forwards to protect since Panarin is exempt. Like MIN or NASH or TBL, but not MIN or NASH since they're the same division. Getting Panarin helps the other team from expansion where LVK takes a much lesser player, but CHI has extra forward protection slots. If TBL had a better cap situation I'd say them, but they can a cap situation.
