also for simmonds like ive maybe missed 20 leafs games in the last 3 seasons, i've seen him play a lot. I was/am a strong advocate of him being out of the lineup on a more regular basis, but your analysis of him is just not correct. He's a depth option. Not a regular, not someone who will be in the lineup often, but a depth option, who will likely spend far more games in the press box or the AHL than he will on the ice in the NHL, but a depth option nonetheless.

In this scenario absolutely I can they're being dumped specifically Simmonds in this case because the space is needed and they're useless same difference.
