Craig Smith is just another average bottom 6er that the jets don't need. The Jets need an upgrade at F and Smith isn't that.

I understand what you mean helping us out in a cap scenario but in terms of skill level the only guy better then smith in Winnipeg’s bottom 6 is Lowry.

Smith hasn’t quite adjusted to Monty’s system aswell as everyone else which is disappointing but outside of this year smith has been better then Lowry for the rest of their careers.

If smith was to be performing like he did his other 145 games previous to this season he would make Boston even more of an uncontainable force, in which Boston would have no reason or want to move him. All he needs is just a spark to get him going again and I would bet you see all trade scenarios of his go away

In all seriousness, we dont need a Smith type of player to use our cap space. We need a Toews/O'Rielly who can play shutdown that has cup experience and a good depth RD like a Schenn or Hamonic.

I definitely see what your POV is but considering their is about 20ish teams currently buying and competing right now that is gonna make the buyers market very expensive and it just so happens a lot of teams are in need of a game changing veteran Center. Now if Winnipeg was to luck out and be outbid for their main targets I don’t see smith being a bad acquisition for that price, smith is better then nothing and with his previous play he could easily be a coleman, goodrow like factor for a competitive PO team.

That’s all I’m trying to point out
