I agreed with this. And then I looked up Barbashevs playoff history and he virtually has no points in every single playoff run he has ever been in. I haven't watched him, so my opinion is purely from the spread sheet. But it made me cool on the idea of getting him.

Ehhh what? Barbashev had 3g 3a during the Cup run playing exclusively has a 4th liner/PKer (fun fact: he was the playoff hits leader that year). On that team, he literally was the 12th forward in the line-up. Last season was the first time he ever played above the 4th line in the playoffs, and I fully agree he was ass during that run. No excuses for that one.

He's not strictly a LW though.
Barbashev does play a majority on LW but he takes a good amount of faceoffs.
He's definitely not ROR caliber level, but he is capable of playing C in some situations and has done so in the past.

ROR is my target and then maybe Horvat. Beyond that I am not sure I would make a move at all.

He isn't a centre.

Yeah, he is. In the past, he played wing about 80% of the time. The past two seasons, he's played C about 80% of the time.

No on Minten, I may be alone on this but I have him as our highest rated prospect. I think he could become ROR one day

Lol, well you know what they say, "Go big or go home"
Yeah having one of those guys would make a deadly C depth.

I just don't know if Toronto has assets to beat out offers from other contending teams because both are top targets at the deadline.
Still Barbashev would be a decent upgrade to their forward group and helps check the boxes.
I'm just thinking he could make an impact similar to what Lehkonen did for COL and Nick Paul for TBL.
Both guys weren't the cream of the crop for deadline targets, but were key guys that helped address respective roster needs as evidenced by their playoffs runs last year.

TO has the assets. They have several good prospects and enough picks to make it happen. Plus no bad contracts they would have to dump to make room.
