Why would the leafs trade the ohl leading scorer for a power play specialist they dont need?

Leafs team is playing a very good 2- way style system. JVR is a pylon when it comes to playing defense and not the guy you want in the playoffs standing around.

Yes, because it's being dragged down by a slow start. They dont need expensive players who cant do anything with the actual majority of ice time that happens during a game
