Engvall starts in the defensive zone more than almost everyone in the NHL apart from Kampf who does it more than literally everyone else in the league. And yet, Engvall has positive advance stats and still is on pace to score nearly 20 goals while being on a shutdown line with Kampf and Kerfoot.
