Description

This is a mockup roster considering the cap goes up $4M next season.

Sign DeBrincat to 8.25M x 8 years. I think Stützle has set the top end of salaries for this wave of players, so DeBrincat wont' get more than 8.3M.

We trade away Zaitsev to any team with a 2nd and 3rd rounder attached for no return.

Acquire Chychrun to shore up our top 4 D. Send Brannstrom as part of that deal.

Sign Formenton (if he's been cleared) or comparable UFA 3rd liner. Could bring back Motte.

Sign Kleven and bring him in to play 3rd pair LD ( or Heatherington if he falters)

Bring up Sogard to play backup.

Fast forward to the 24/25 season, and we have close to $5.5M in dead cap hit that comes off the books, freeing up cap space to sign Sanderson to a long contract, while being able to bring up Boucher + Ostapchuk to play in the middle six.

Can’t see Debrincat getting less than 9 million especially at 8 years. You are also over the cap. It’s projected to be 83.5 as of now

I like the defence and the top 6. Solid overall team.
Too much for Chychrun imo he can barely stay healthy and isn't the best fit for the team.
Formenton is likely done, Pinto gets more. I don't think Soogard is ready to backup.
