This ain't it. Garland for Fabbro will not happen without a RD replacement heading back to NSH at a minimum.

Believe Nashville is overloaded with Left D, not Right D.

I’m not saying they won’t trade Fabbro, but I don’t think they are shopping him either.

This probably isn’t the fit they would be looking for to part with dante

Even with an adequate replacement for Fabbro, I don't see NSH trading for Garland. The Preds are going to need to make some cap space to afford their RFAs next season. Adding a winger at Garland's cap hit is an unaffordable luxury. There are enough prospect options on their ELCs in the system (Tomasino, Evangelista, Kemell, Afanasyev) that they'll have a better shot filling a middle six wing spot cheaply with an internal option, than they will at any other position.

Id wager that if fabbro is being shopped it's to shave money off next season which would require the return being picks/prospects. So as far as canucks go i could see Nashville being interested in 1st round pick plus schenn who is then flipped at the trade deadline for more picks or a young rhd on entry level contract that is a year or two behind fabbro then Nashville uses gross to fill the roster spot. Either way, garland wouldnt be what Nashville is looking for as hes considerably more expensive and thats before you even go into his size and fit on the team and nashvilles wing prospects that should be coming into the nhl next season/this season

I've never thought there was much to the Fabbro rumours - just someone in the media trying to get some clicks. If he were on the block though, I agree a picks/prospect return makes the most sense for him. I don't see any of the prospects VCR might part with being of high interest to the Preds though.

I still feel Ekholm is the most likely of NSH's dmen to get moved. Not sure it happens before the deadline though - probably an off-season trade. There's so little in the way of quality defense hitting the UFA market in the summer, that even an over 30 yr old with term like him would still be desirable for several teams looking to upgrade.

Agreed due to age and contract ekholm would be top player is look to move from the d group. Josi has a nmc, carrier/fabbro/lauzon are all young with lower aavs, McDonagh has a 12 team no trade list which with the current cap situation league wide could easily be planned out to make him unmovable.
