I want to create a fun scenario for every fanbase that would realistically add Bo Horvat at the deadline.

It's 2:50pm (Eastern) on March 3rd, 2023. You are the GM of your favorite team. Every team that was in on Horvat has gone in another direction... except your team.

This is basically a worst case situation for the Canucks. The only team they have left to negotiate with is your team. The only choice they have is to accept your final offer or keep Horvat for the rest of the season.

(Maybe they trade his rights at the draft, maybe they attempt to re-sign him, maybe they let him walk. It really doesn't matter at this point.)

Your objective is to add Bo Horvat to your roster while giving up the least amount as possible in your final offer. Keep in mind, while you have Vancouver over a barrel, they don't have to accept your trade. Keeping their captain is probably worth more than a few late round picks.

I wouldn't consider Seattle a serious contender for Horvat, but this is a fun exercise so I'll give it a go.

Assuming that 10 minutes isn't enough time to work out a long term extension, I as acting GM of the Seattle Kraken will treat Horvat as a playoff rental. My final offer would be something like Alex Wennberg, Cale Fleury, Seattle's 2024 2nd round pick, and a conditional 2024 3rd round pick that would only convey if Seattle re-signs Bo in the offseason.

The final step of this transaction will be to dedicate a special task force to selling Horvat on the virtues of the American side of the Salish Sea and convincing him to re-sign long term.

For Carolina, Suzuki, 2nd rounder in 2023, Nystrom, and the Canucks choice of Guslistov, Kucharski, Mercuri, Nybeck, or Webber for Horvat half retained.
