Had to sneak in an Anderson traded didn't you? No value for the Oilers, never mind the never ending cap for a 3rd line winger

Anderson = closest thing to an Evander Kane replacement.

That's funny. A 40 winger point, defensive lacking winger, Anderson isn't close to a 65 point, good defensively Kane. It's a cap league, and there is no hiding 4.5m years of Anderson awful cap value.

The GM who has outright gushed about Levi for over a year since they traded for him.

The fact that Buffalo has no proven starter.

The fact that Levi has shown a commitment to the Sabres through all of his social media accounts and interviews.

I get the desire for a local kid, but it makes literally no sense for Buffalo to deal from arguably their weakest position for a 32 year old depth defenseman, a mediocre forward prospect and yet another lottery ticket that would be years away from being impactful. It has nothing to do with value, and everything to do with positional need and where Buffalo is in their rebuild/retool or whatever you care to call it.

If and that's a big if Buffalo trades him it would either be because they had a young long term starter solution, or someone like Dobes would be coming back. Again it's unlikely.

I haven’t seen any commitment.

Of course you haven't you're a Habs fan that thinks every Quebec born player wants to play there.

Absolutely not. Very few Quebec born players want to play there.. That’s only a small wrinkle. He’s also a free agent after the season, so if Buffalo isn’t 100% positive that he will sign with them, they may look to move him. Then there is also the fact that he plays for North Eastern which Gorton and especially Hughes has very close ties with. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knows Levi and his family very well. Montreal is also a better city, a more storied franchise, on top of it being his home. There are many factors here, he gets to choose where he goes if he wishes to. That doesn’t mean he will be moved, he may be fully committed to Buffalo, but maybe he’s not and maybe these conversations are happening behind the scenes. We don’t know for sure.
