So Sabres have a very interesting future. They have the likes of Savoie, rosen, kulich, ostland, levi as "high end" prospects rn. That doesnt include guys like Johnson, Portillo, nadeau, rousek, and also the russians (listed in IR)

Long story short, very interesting future for the sabres

Unless Ostlund gets bigger, I can't see him handling 4C. Not bad though. Maybe 4th line

@BUFF36
Jost is playing the 4th line role very well.
@asauer1122
As you said many forward prospects, nearly too many to list and too many for only 14 forwards spots..
Kulich, Rosen and Savoie could find their way onto the club next year replacing Hinostroza, Okposo and Girgensons while giving Buffalo a third scoring line.

I would not dismiss Asplund or Jost too quickly.
Both of them are very strong defensive forwards and could be excellent fourth line anchors for year to come.

Levi, Portillo and Johnson are wild cards.
If they all sign with Buffalo, the Sabres will be a powerhouse for the next ten years.

Let me add, Neuchev, Poltapov, and Novikov remain Sabres prospects indefinitely even if they do not sign soon.

To me, Kisakov & Komarov are different because they're already playing in north america

Let's hope that the Sabres do not let RHD Komarov slip away as they only have until June 2024 to sign him.
He is the top scoring D-man for the Quebec Remparts and the second highest +/-.
He may be another one of Jeramiah Crowe's late round gems.

Ostlund will have to put on some weight to play in the NHL,
but he’s only an inch shorter than Krebs
So idk that they’re all that much different when it comes to their body type
Ostlund is one of the only Center prospects who has his defensive game talked about though

Also,
if we can get decent 2way play from lines 2 & 3,
then we won’t need to have our traditional “defensive line4”

Difference is Krebs proved he could handle it, and given 2 wingers 1 a shooter and another a banger with a very good 2 way game could make for a very dangerous 4th line. Hopefully Nadeau keeps progressing because he could be are Foligno with higher Offensive upside in a few years.

Well Ostlund isn’t here yet to prove anything
And my comment was just directed at yours about his size
If he puts on some weight, which just about any young athlete will, then i think he will be just fine

Sorry, wasn't forgetting that. And you're right, but Ostlund really hasn't grown much in a couple years. Gonna be a good player. But if I was gonna trade any of the 1sts from last year, he would be my choice.

Kozak has a greater chance of being our 4th C than Ostlund. I'd keep him in Sweden for at least another season for him to refine his game and add some more muscle. Kozak is struggling in the AHL but he's getting pro games in and Appert loves him (deservingly so)

I think he may be my choice to trade also,
but that’s probably just bc i haven’t really seen much of him at all
Some guys will either have to be moved or will waste away in the minors
Bc we don’t have room for all this talent we’ve been drafting
We have 4 more picks in the first 2 rounds this year as well

Choices will have to be made at some point
And it might not be as easy as keeping the best player
Gotta find the best guys to fill certain roles now:
PK, faceoff guy, defensive forwards, etc etc

Sabres are starting to run into to many prospects to look at, especially with such a young team. Just hope Adams keeps the right ones. Good and bad thing to have.

Not all will meet their projected ceilings
So having “too many” good prospects is ok in my book

Adams has been doing a good job
And a big part of this is thanks to Botterill before him
