I dont think you're getting them to use two retention spots on this trade. That means they cant retain on both Kane and Toews.

The problem with this trade is the retention on McCabe if you found a way to work around that I think we would be happy to make this deal.

Good point, I don't think with how tight EDM's budget is that it can be done without retention spots. If Kane and Toews stay then it's possible.

Yeah. It's not even necessarily the retention itself but the usage of a retention slot. But, like others have already said, if Kane and/or Toews want to stay put, I think CHI would be good with this.
