No way Gonchar is a 2nd Pairing, will be signed to be the 7th Defensemen, and to mentor Plotnikov, like he did with Malkin.
Sestito Probably start in AHL this year.
Still think JR has something working to get out of Scud's contract, and sign a Volchenkov or Franson

If Gonchar and Sesito make the Pens lineup (and they might), it sure looks like the Pens will be fighting for a playoff spot. Taking on Kessell's 6.8m a year, doesn't look so wise now.

How many times have you seen a 13th forward or 8th Dman be the cause of a team not making the playoffs? Really?
