I only think Colorado does this if they are in cap trouble, Mason gives them exactly what your looking for so i find it hard to see them letting him go.

Because he need a more stable d-core. And Bouchard has more value than Barrie or Broburg.

From the start, I haven’t loved that Manson contract. Good player, but I wonder how the deal looks in 3 years.

I’d be down, but I have no idea how much Bouchard and Poolparty will get on their next deals.

Hmmmm to me I feel while Mason isn’t the flashy scoring threat Makar is his abilities help win playoff games and cups.
same with Danault an Goodrow. those are the type of players you see on cup winning teams

For me, he’s a guy signed for $4.5M until he’s 34 years old and he plays a very physical brand of hockey. I worry that he won’t be able to keep up towards the back half of that contract.

He’s a useful PK guy and good at clearing the front of the net, but I always thought that contract is a lil too rich.

I’m taking this if I’m the Avs, but it probably also makes COL’s off-season much more challenging given that Byram/Newhook and Bouchard/Poolparty all need deals and likely can use each other as comps.

34 is the max I would have done for him, that’s when these type of D tend to fall off. so it’s not bad but i get your thoughts here
