fyi Kahkonen is terrible.

Kahkonen is actually decent, I feel Quinn made a horrible decision not keeping Nabokov as goalie coach. he will rebound next year. that being said they are giving up a good albeit injury prone prospect and the much better goalie to offset the value of meier over Nylander, plus this gives the sharks a top line RW which we don’t have on the team or in the minors. i have to say this is very fair if we can resign Nylander than this helps the sharks more than it hurts them.

That was my thinking, maybe the Leafs can throw in their 1st and SJ throws in their 2nd so SJ can move up in the draft as well. I also think SJ could get Nylander on a cheaper contract than Toronto can due SJ not having the internal cap structure Toronto has
