Nolan Patrick

Description
Patrick is reportedly meeting with montreal meaning they have interest in him.. you would have to think it would take a player like galchenyuk for NJ to consider trading their #1 pick. Beaulieu would be enough bonus to get kovalchuk in a sign and trade (assuming he doesn't want to stay in jersey).

Expansion protected list:
Pacioretty, Radulov, Danault, Shaw, Byron, Gallagher, Hudon, Weber, Petry, Benn, Price

Far fetched with the thorton deal.. just a quick team I put together after hearing this rumour.

Before anyone says montreal isn't giving up enough, think about it. There isn't a whole lot of interest in kovalchuk from what I've heard and Patrick and Galchenyuks value is pretty much the same in my opinion.

Come on man..... you r not going to get the #1 overall with the 'rights' to two players and still keep your first round pick.....

What are you guys tslking about. This is a weak draft, why would NJ even want to wait at least 3 years to see if the 25th OAP pans out or not? If I'm NJ i want Mete or Byron also.

Ya I want 2 23 yr old RFAs if Im NJ. Cause theyre valuable assets ( especially AG,) that I can resign or trade . If I believe I have the means to bring out the full potential out of both of them, that MTL couldn't, then I low ball them on long term contracts. I can also give them bridges or trade them

The rights to RFA's... I assume you don't understand the difference between RFA's and UFA's?

I think it's enough.. when I think about it from new Jersey's perspective.. I would be more excited to add galchenyuk and Beaulieu than Patrick.

What NJ would realistically ask for to trade the 1st overall:

        Galchenyuk
        Sergachev
        2017 1st Rd Pick
        Rights to Beaulieu

And no that doesn't include Kovalchuk too. And tbh if I were the devils I still probably wouldn't go for that deal. You're way off.

Sure dude the Habs need to add the #25 pick as well, Galchenyuk+Beaulieu doesn't net you a top 2 pick no way. Why would the Devils be interested in Beaulieu.

Honestly can't believe someone looked at that trade and said "Yeah. That's probably enough."

You're talking a #1 overall pick AND a potential 30 goal scorer. It's Sergachev, Galchenyuk, Beaulieu and a pick swap AT LEAST.

So the habs trade a young actual 30 goal scorer plus a **** ton else for a guy who maybe will be able to do that in 3 years? Ppl we are not talking about a year where players like McDavid or Matthews are available, Nico and Nolan look to be good NHL Players who will hopefully be top line players but they are not home runs. If that is was NJ or Philly ask guess who is the one who is laughing as he hangs up the phone.
