Caps should probably do something like this.

Restock the picks, add some high quality young assets, gain flexibility, all while keeping a balanced and competitive young roster.

I mean that's a team that's still strong down the middle and strong on D. If Grubauer is the real deal it's well built for now and the future.

I believe in Grubauer. I don't have anything negative to say about him. He's got great potential.

What're your thoughts on the Ovechkin trade?

Not a fan of the CGY or EDM deals...Ovi+Vrana for rfa Bennett +Tkachuk+first....would rather trade Carlson+ a few of those picks you've accumulated for Drouin

honestly believe caps can get way more for ovi....bennett was in and out of the flames line up this season

orpik deal works dont think you should need a 3rd added vegas is taking our front office people and gmgm has a solid working relationship with the caps current gm (he was assistant gm while gmgm he was here)

i personally think eberle is soft id rather go for a solid playmaker in drouin or johnson from tampa.......even if you get johnson you can move eller to a team like nashville that needs center depth

last thing is idk how sold i am on vrana he looks solid sometimes and lost others he was sat in the playoffs for hershey think it would be smart to keep Connolly who would be a great 3rd 4th line guy incase vrana doesnt pan out

        but good job

All these trades really make sense to me, I think they are not all only fair, but could be beneficial to both sides! Just some outside perspective

I think it's a false rumor made up by that "rumorbreak" twitter account.

However, if the deal were to really happen I'd be good with it. As much as I'd hate to lose those young assets, Bennett especially, that deal pushes the Flames into contender status if they find a good goalie and a decent #4 defenseman.

        Don't get greedy smile

Bennett missed one game this season, he wasn't in and out of the line up.

Although his offensive numbers took a hit, it was his first year playing full time center and he really improved defensively. He also had terrible wingers most of the season and limited minutes.

not being greedy just saying a guy that averages 45 goales a year should net more than 2 1st a solid 3rd liner and a d prospect

also caps r d prospect rich

        bowey
        Siegenthaler
        Johansen
        hobbs
        djoo

We wouldn't need to trade negotiating rights to shattenkirk...Vegas already has exclusive negotiating rights to him before any other team. I think these trades are fair, but still really take the team in a poor direction. All the trades except the Holtby and Ovechkin ones are pretty good, but the Holtby and Ovi trades really hurt the team for the now.

No, Vegas doesn't have negotiating rights to Shattenkirk. If they sign him, they can't claim anyone else from the caps. You don't know what you're talking about at all.
