Description
2023-24 SEASON = NO TRADES (all in-house retentions).

Chill - yeah I know there are overages for Bergeron/Krejci coming of US$4.5MIL.
Face it, all teams find an IR chump or "Robidas Island Camper" to get under the CAP (esp. when the new season starts) this post factors that overage in that fashion.

Don’t see Pasta signing for that. Or Clifton.

Supposedly they already made him offer similar to that, it’s not signed. I hear he wants 12.5.

Pasta:
Those figures are close IMO. You are the first to post $12.5Mil (source?)
Other players:
Monies between bottom-6 etc: Cliffy-Fred-Nosek-McLaughlin-Swayman-Foligno could be adjusted ^ or v slightly to get to the $number$

That may be. He's a #5-7 depth D-piece, and I like his game (but he's not CORE).

Point of the ACGM is to demonstrate the current group can be retained (many ACGMs lately are posting sky-is-falling BS. It can be done. 110%).

Other users have posted that bruins need to account for $4.5M in performance bonuses next year. Checked it out - looks legit but I’m no cap expert. $2.5M for Bergeron + $2M for Krejci in 2022-23 means carryover cap hit of $4.5M in 23-24. So you’re $4.4M over the cap

There was a tweet or a post somewhere in the offseason he was looking for 8 years 100m. That’s 12.5.

Latest rumblings he won’t take anything less than Panarin $. That’s 11.7.

I agree but the only other obstacle you could possibly run into is Swayman. What if someone offer sheets him at 4m per?

I have not seen many saying they can’t keep core together (Just 1). But all the dip💩s that think they can trade for Horvat and sign both him and Pasta, mostly Nuckheads, are delusional.

They will have to move someone regardless. Reilly for sure, probably one of Grizz or Forbort and possibly….uh oh…a goalie. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Offer sheets aren't really a thing.
Your PIT-prezzy (Burke) would be the 1st to bark that.

Last couple were an anomaly Aho/KK in 2021 was a p i s s i n g match (and that ain't to great for Canes). Prior to that it was 2013.

If they do you weigh it out - give him more or let him walk and take the picks (BOS could use some youth right)?
Besides, 1A G-man Ully is still around so you lose 1B.

Not sure you’ll be able to robidas island your way out of $4.5M bonus set back next year. One or multiple players with salary at or exceeding ~$4.4M would have to be in LTIR for the entire season or you’d be above the cap. Trading for a guy on LTIR will not help you get under the cap. Am I missing something?

DGAF. Sweeney said they had no problem making him the highest paid player on the team. Mac makes 9.5. Do the math. It’s not the org holding things up.

Many think he comes in at 8 for 88m because…symmetry. But he seems dug in. And has all the leverage.

Hypothetical!

All I know is Vegas has been sitting on CF in the #1 capped out position all season and they keep playing (#5 League-wide). There's a way.
For example BOS had BM & CM out for 2-months so it's always possible to re-coup (& think waivers).

Reilly will be easy ($3M, UFA/expiring) - bet there's a dozen clubs that'll need NHL guys like him JUST to get to the floor!

And Sweeney said they weren’t. Better source.

Progressing isn’t going to be 10.5. That’s where they were starting.

I've got Pasta at $10.5 isn't that > $9.5 or do I need new math training?

That $1M per is $8Mil all-in to Pasta's jeans, criminy!

Thanks for your insider knowledge on the $10.5 being the start of discussions! Who knew you were THE fly on the Garden wall!?

It is already pre-destined that Pasta will sign 8x11. $88 mil.

Tell him that. He’s the one not signing what they are offering. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It does not take a genius to figure this out. Pasta is playing hardball.

F*** that, if Pasta wants that I'm willing to let him walk.

If Sweeney is smart, his leverage is waiting out Pasta right up to free agency. Pasta has publicly stated his love for the city and his desire to re-sign, so the closer he gets to free agency, the more pressure builds that there's a real possibility he'll need to move from a city he's lived in for a number of years now and has called home.

$10.5M is market value for 100+ point wingers, and he'll still become the highest paid Bruin in history. Obviously a good agent will try to get the best contract for his player, and a good GM will get the best contract for the team, but it ultimately comes down to the player with the final say. And I think we'll see a similar situation like Forsberg and NSH, both sides will hold out until close to free agency but ultimately come to a deal that is fair for both sides.
