Shattenkirk at 7 for 7 is a huge gamble. I think he will go for less.
Stone is a solid 3rd line D. if Nylander is a no go than you can always bring up Bailey who costs about the same.

A bit expensive Kovalchuk contract, but it's a interesting idea. I'd push for a 2 year deal.

No thank you to Shattenkirk at that money. Stone would be interesting but in a top-4 role. Way too expensive bottom pairing

Shatty is expensive, but Buffalo has a hard time attracting free agents. They usually end up trying to tip the balance by overpaying.
Nylander might need another year of seasoning in the A. But I'm hoping he ends up surprising in preseason a la Reinhart a couple years ago.

If GMJB were to deal for and sign Kovi... in addition sign Shat to a 7/7 contract I will give up my season tickets..... You would absolutely cripple the future for this team. In 2018/2019 you leave the Sabres with 16 players under contract and only $16,000,000 in cap space (you still have yet to extend Jack & Sam). If you need to overpay players like Shat, Kovi & Stone to come to Buffalo why bother as you will decimate the youth of your organization.

You are going to sign Lehner at $2,250,000 that is never going to happen. He will get at least $3,000,000 per.
