It worked out pretty well when the Oilers signed Drai long term before he broke out and became a top 5 player

There is always the occasional exception, but I don't think you're suggesting that Kostin is comparable to Draisaitl.

I didn't intentional compare Kostin to Drai I just was using Drai as a example later not every "Should sign XXXXX before he gets better" deal turns out bad, do u have any example that prove the opposite?
