Puljujärvi and a first for Gavrikov makes a lot of sense. Pulji could really benefit from Laine and Jarmo Kekalainen and all the other Finns Columbus has, and would be a cheap add.

Since it’s unlikely he is going to receive a QO this off-season, the Canes could just sign him to a small 1 year prove it deal instead, and get him cheaper than paying for his acquisition via trade. Not to mention, there is no roster space for JP this year, especially since he won’t be bumping Noesen or Fast out of the lineup.

Canes don't have the spot for him, but they also don't have the cap. I like Pulju in Carolina, but right now, there's no reason for the Canes to do it. Their right-wing is made up of Necas, Teravainen, Jarvis and Fast. On the left, there's not exactly an opening with Svechnikov, Pacioretty, Noesen and Martinook. In the summer, he could replace someone like Fast. But now, I can't see it.
