I like it, spending some assets to build up the right d. I would bet teams won't wanna move 2 right d in the same deal

canes want to actually get better when using a 2nd round pick plus Nystrom who has a PPG pace in Sweden this year.

And those assets could be used in a better way than Mittelstadt. Canes have no need whatsoever for Mittelstadt.

    Past 19 games played 5v5:

    Mitts 11pts
    Olofsson 11pts
    Jost 10pts
    Tuch 10pts
    Tage 10pts
    Skinner 10pts
    Dahlin 10pts

And you just want to get rid of this guy for futures? Sorry you hate him so much, but he's really good at hockey.

He's not, sell him while his stock is high because we have no idea what he'll be next year and they have multiple players that will out play him in camp. He also has 0 goals in that 19 games and only 2 goals in the last 27 and both of those goals were lucky flukes in the Detroit game. He's just lucky he's on a line with Olofsson and Jost so he can get his secondary assists (5-6 of his 11)

tears of joy tears of joy

It's funny because his great play the last month has little to do with his point totals. He's been a good player during that stretch and you still can't acknowledge that he's had a small stint of good hockey.

He's been unwatchable and I feel like in the entirety of Buffalo the only people I've heard defend his play has been a handful of users on this site. Nobody sees this good play. Constant mishandles, poor decisions, bad shots, but he accidentally finds Olofsson in front of the net and all of a sudden he's a playmaking master. Jost has been carrying the water on that line if your talking about players working with out the stats showing it, Mittlestadt skates aimlessly

I'm sure you're a pleasure to have Mittelstadt conversations with in person, too.

They've been playing together with Jost for more than a month. Mittelstadt has been playing multitudes better this 3 or so weeks. And, strangely, before Jost was even on the team they had great stretches too since Granato came on. Olofsson has become less of a liability this past year, but his game is being in a spot and finishing. I hope the growth continues.

I openly acknowledge flaws in Mittelstadt's game and his inconsistency, but you and others cannot acknowledge *any* good from his play. But I'm the blind one, and "there is no reverse".

Let's sell Tage too while he is hot. F..it ...sell the whole team for 2nd rounders. Who needs players that score goals and put up points anyway? Am I right?

Tage is an exception not the rule. Granato isnt a miracle worker that waivers his hand and fixes players. It's not like Mittlestadt hasn't been given an opportunity either unlike Tage (and Skinner) who were buried on the 4th line or in the press box because they wouldn't play defense the way Krueger wanted

Not that dissimilar, actually. Mitts has had some unfortunate injuries, but just like players and coaches praised Tage in practice, the same is being said about Mitts. His teammates and coach love him. He was slated to be the #1C before his injury and then Tage took that spot and ran with it.

Does Mitts score goals like Tage does? Nope.
Is he a good-playmaker and two-way player? Yep.

You just keep trying to give him away for basically nothing.

He's a young player that just keeps getting better and better.

But sure, let's roll back time. Sell players just as they are hitting their prime for big question marks. That's freaking Groundhog day.

According to whom? By my measure that would be the AHL.
