Not close. We have no need for nhl depth players.

For Meier the package should probably be

One of:
Quinn, Kulich, Petereka

and a 2023 first with lottery protection.

Where’s the top prospect? Drop the fluff of Mittlestadt and asplund and add actual value

Middlebust was a top prospect the day he was drafted. His string of under 30 pts seasons makes him more of a cap dump then an asset

He’s been on pace for around 50 points all season

Kulich, RyJo, 1st, 3rd

Assuming Johnson signs in his home state. If not, Sharks add another 2nd round this year.

I would for sure do Quinn and a first (top ten protected) we have Savoie, Kulich, Ostlund, Rosen, etc… on their way up so we have the luxury to move on from a valuable young player

He's basically lived up to his draft spot. Drafted #8OA and sits 11th in points. That's not a bust.

If that is the case where is the 7x7 extension from Buffalo?

What do you mean? He's under contract until July 2024.

He's such a valuable commodity you should lock that up long term instead of trading him

Haha. Makes sense a SJS fan would say that. You have 4 guys making $7mm+ and had to trade away another in Burns and got extreeeeeeeeeeemly lucky the the Kane contract just disappearing. I mean Burns and Jones alone are costing you $5mm+ for years. Double what Mitts makes and he's actually producing for us.

I'm not trading Mitts.

As you noted, he has had some injury-riddled seasons. Why would you lock anyone up long-term until they prove themselves. Mitts has a great contract. How is that a bad thing?

BUF doesn't need cap mgmt advice from SJ, thanks. But you did show us what not to do.
