Well they might both sign
And if they don’t, u at least get a 2nd as compensation for Johnson walking

Plus, Rosen IS a “top prospect”
He was drafted 14th overall 2 drafts ago & progressing nicely

So they still don’t get a first, maybe they get a guy to sign or they don’t, means no value. Need quality and not quantity. I would view Rosen as borderline between A and B, I think other teams offer better

Well, you said “or”
And it doesn’t matter what level prospect u think Rosen is
Just matters what your GM thinks

I’d imagine most- if not all- would consider him an “A” level prospect still

But regardless,
we have plenty of pieces to get Meier- IF we want

Idk that we’ll pay the price though

Just stop.

We know the ask is a first, top prospect and young player.

1st, Peterka/Savoie/Kulich, Mittelstadt maybe?

Don't worry though, just like Eichel, just like Taylor Hall, and just like ROR, you know what they all had in common? They wanted out of Buffalo as quickly as possible. In two years, will we be hearing the same about Tage? grimace

Ryan actually liked it in Buffalo, he was just sick of losing every year. I don't blame him, our team, the coaches, and the front office sucked when he was here. Now the Sabres are an up in coming exciting team. It won't be hard to attract players now.

While i get what you’re saying,
this proposed trade actually has the value of three 1sts for Meier imo

1- Rosen, picked 14th overall 2 drafts ago & developing nicely in his 1st AHL season = 1st round value

2- Philly 2nd, will be high in the round + Asplund + Portillo is a good young goalie prospect = 1st round value
*don’t see any reason Portillo wouldn’t sign with SJ, as he wouldn’t be stuck behind UPL & Levi like he is here

3- Vegas 2nd, will be low in the round, but it’s + Johnson- who is a good defenseman prospect who was picked in the 1st himself
*again, no reason for Johnson not to sign in SJ, as he wouldn’t be stuck with a ceiling of 3rd pair minutes behind Dahlin, Power & Samuelsson

So no, you don’t get that “1st”
But this is actually better value than what you’re proposing above

I dont agree at all but ok. Rosen has been fine, but .5 PPG in the AHL is pretty bad I would say compared to others. His value is around a second maybe.

Philly second is fine, Asplund is a nothing piece, Portillo seems to be testing UFA.

Vegas second is late, and Johnson is also testing UFA.

This isnt close
