Description
Couple Issues I know are here
- Obviously this assumes Krejci and Bergeron retire
- I don't fully understand the bonus overage thing with Bergeron and Krejci for next season but Ive seen 4.5 million against the cap so I went with that number.
- Schenns had a good season and probably could get more than 1 mil, haven't gotten a chance to watch him much this season so I went with that number.
- I hate moving Forbort, looking at the makeup of the roster though I'd imagine paying over 6 million to your 2nd and 3rd left defenseman is an issue for a team up against the cap so it came down to him or Gryz.
- Zadina is a guy I've liked for a while, has a lot of talent and hasn't worked out in Detroit. I think the trade value for him has to be low right now coming off of an injury as well. He's a cheap offensive minded talent that maybe with a change of scenery can reach the potential he has. He's also Czech so thats a bonus... Czech line 2.0?
- Trading 3 LD definitely weakens the depth at defense. Ahcan has had some success stepping in and playing and is having a great season in providence. If it doesn't work out that will have to be addressed though.
- I'd like to keep Coyle at. 3C. I think he fits there much better than as a 2C. Would love some cheap ideas that could fill in at 2C.

If that's the return, Detroit will keep Zadina.

You're right Zadina's trade value isn't very high but Yzerman did just extend him for another 3 years. So even though his trade value is low there is no real urgency to move him.

Out of curiousity what would Detroit want for Zadina? Definitely understand where he’s under contract that there isnt an urgency to move him though.

I have no idea, but I thought Yzerman would sign to a 1yr extension and move him at the TDL if he wasn't performing. As is I'm not sure he bring in a 3rd and since he has 2 more seasons on his contract I don't see Detroit retaining so maybe a 4th.
