The only one from the kid line I'd consider trading is Laf.

Meier is worth more than horvat alone. The other 2 are solid depth pieces. Blais, Kravs, 2nd covers the depth guys. Chytil, 1st, 1st isn’t that much greater than what Bo cost, and naturally the price goes up with everyone else wanting the best rental. Long term it sucks to lose Chytil and the late picks but that’s a real cup chance there.

Chytil is a future second line center who has really been developing nicely for us. Horvat cost a cap dump in Beauviller who's probably worth what Bjorkstrand got (3rd + 4th), Aatu Raty who is a decent A- or B+ prospect, and a mid first round pick.

There is no way that Meier's value blows that out of the water. We're talking more than what Eichel got here as a center. A first, Kravtsov, and Blais should be plenty for Meier. Chytil should be outta the question here.

Lmao bruh, Meier is worth more than a cap dump, a bust and a mid 1st. Thats not even close to what Horvat got even tho Meier is better than Horvat and hes under team control after this year.

Meier's QO is over $10mil, a price that the Rangers simply can't afford with K'Andre Miller, Lafreniere, and Chytil needed new contracts, and Braden Schneider needing a new deal as well in two years. This deal is just stupid for the Rangers. Let him go to the Devils for Holtz, Blackwood, and a first so that you can get a bust, a first, and a UFA goalie.

That's closer to what they'll end up getting than this. "Under team control" amounts to nothing in this situation.

Holtz will be a good player, just maybe not under DQ. But yeah, these people are tweaking.

Meier is a good player. He's also basically a pending UFA. No one is treating him like he's under contract, from either the SJS side or any team trading for him.
He wants 9m+ on his contract, and with the 10m QO he'll get it.

That sai yeah Meier is a better player than Horvat, but he's also a wing vs center.

I'd say no from the rangers pov, because chytil at this point should be close to untouchable. Move him for someone locked in at a fantastic value, not a pending UFA.

Chytil is also far better than someone like Beauviller.
Kratsov is a worse prospect than ratu, but he's also older and still a former top 10 pick and has flashed very sporadically.

Likely the rangers don't make a big splash, and depend on the kids taking another huge step in the playoffs and the vets stepping up.
They should be looking to fill in their 3rd pair and maybe some forward depth on the 3rd or 4th line.

1. The Meier was worth a 4th more than horvat(before trade)
2. Post trade Meier value now increases as the last man standing and none of the competing buyers got horvat so change that 4th to a 2nd easy
3. This is all based off of rental status, Meier is a RFA that you can flip for a 2nd minimum in June if need be or resign so bump that initial 2nd in value to a full 1st more than the horvat deal.
4. Raty is still a high level prospect, we aren’t talking Kravs. Big difference between them. However he may end up being a flop like Kravs but he is nowhere near that status.
5. Beauvillier isn’t a cap dump, they moved cap in the trade but he’s a very serviceable middle 6 guy who has only been held back by a defensive system
6. NYI 1st is going to be better than NYR or DAL(actually relevant to hit in the “deep” draft)

So in totality we would be moving Chytil and 2 late 1st, might trade Meier in July to recoup a mid round 1st that could even hit in the draft. Meanwhile we would have acquired the most sought after player for a deep run..
