The MN trade all comes down to whether or not galchenyuk can stick at center or not, and if we can even get close to affording resigning those guys. Wild have no need for another granlund at this point smaller (center who really fits better as a wing). I don't watch the habs enough to know a ton about the player, but he's definitely the type of guy the wild would gamble on if they see him as a center long term. I love Nino and don't want to move him at all but he's going to ask for a lot of money and our cap situation is rough.

The Wild trade is hard.
What is Galchenyuk, a wing or a center? If he's not a true center, then he isn't as interesting.
How much is his contract going to be?

I'd rather keep Nino and send Granlund in this trade.

The Wild deal seems like giving up too much, and Oilers deal feels like not enough (plus I don't see Oilers trying to save cap by trading for a bad contract in Shaw). I like the creativity tho.

With the EDM trade, would you prefer Gallagher + 3rd for RNH ?

I think from a Montreal prospective you are giving up way too much I am really curious why Montreal fans want to get rid of Galchenyuk. I guess its something of value for something of value. I don't see the value of picking up Eric Staal and giving up a younger better center in Galchenyuk.

I think it's the opposite, the wild deal is fair value but I don't see how it helps minnesota. The edmonton deal however would be a win for edmonton in my opinion. They get a cheaper player who can fill the role of nugent Hopkins and they also get a 2nd round pick. Shaw's contract is superior in the way it is structured as well... it is front loaded therefore it will be really easy to move his contract to a team like arizona if a team wanted to. Edmonton would save $2.1 mil for the next 4 years... and get a 2nd round pick. They would be all over that I think.

Not supporting the idea but you didn't even mention Nino NeiderReiter who is basically galchenyuk. It's more like galchenyuk for neiderreiter (which is a lateral move if anything so doesn't make sense unless galchenyuk has off ice problems) and beaulieu and a 2nd for staal.

He can play either in my opinion, however he is an offensive player and struggles with the defensive responsibilities of being a C. As a #1C right now, he is outmatched by opposing C's and as much as he can score, he gets scored on just as much if not more. On a 2nd line focused on offense he can be an effective center or he ca play wing on the top 6 anywhere. He lost a lot of strength after his knee injury but will bounce back next year.

The oilers trade is terrible, shaw is overpaid and too much term plus a second for nuge. You need to add more for Nuge, Shaw is almost a negative asset I'd say

Agree that Shaw is not enough for RNH, even with a pick, but he's not a negative. He was a monster at times and the thought of him and Lucic together scares me.
