The reputed ask for McCabe with retention is a first, but let's say that some of that is Chicago GM puffery. Since the second isn't this year's, McCabe's part of that package would be the two prospects, leaving the third and two UFAs for Domi. That seems insufficient to me.
Konecny with three years' retention for a first, an A prospect and another UFA seems possible, but Timo Meier is arguably the most valuable player on the trade market this cycle, including the already relocated Bo Horvat, so a late first, a B prospect and an undrafted 26-year-old yet to score a point in a "career" of only 8 games in the NHL seems woefully inadequate. That package isn't as valuable as the first-round draft pick Vancouver got in the Horvat trade, never mind the other elements the Canucks received.
