At this point, Devils may just go cheaper on a backup as Blackwood is below replacement, so we can get a rookie or cheaper guy behind Vanecek.

Blackwood has actually been rather decent in a more limited role this season.
2.1 GSAx in 14 games is very good for a backup.
If it becomes apparent that both Schmid and Daws could use another year of development in the AHL I wouldn't mind the Devils having Blackwood backing Vanecek up for next season as well.

That's fine, I'm more so saying that I wouldn't spend a ton on a backup in assets or money. I just don't see Blackwood being worth his QO however.
