I gotta disagree man, this will be pretty much what he gets at the deadline. If it was just his offense, he might get more. But he's terrible in the defensive end, which is key in the playoffs. Kravtsov is still young and has talent. A first and a young former first rounder with a 6th for a kicker is pretty good.

Okay, right off the bat, describing Kravstov as "a young former first rounder" is an obvious distortion of reality. Taking him would be a favor more than being worth much of anything. The 6th is pennies. So Tarasenko max retained for a 23 1st is, yes, a little light. I'll stand by that.

Finally, this thing where everyone says Tarasenko doesn't play defense are things everyone who just reads analytics says, and it's still not true. Is he a Selke forward? No, of course not. But does he hustle and back check and make lots of important plays in the D zone? Yes, he absolutely does, and he also rarely commits any of these constant terrible D-zone giveaways. And that's even before we get to his neutral zone sticky fingers.

I don't do analytics.........I live and breathe by the eye test. Terrible might be an overstatement, but you can't say that he's good. Kravtsov still has a ton of potential, even if I don't respect him for the decision he made last year.

Either way, this is pretty much the type of deal you can expect to see Tarasenko moved for as a rental.

This is definitely in the Blues favor. Army will be hoping for a 1st or a promising young player/prospect but not both. To get a 1st and a once promising prospect who needs a change of scenery plus a 6th for salary retention is top dollar.

Again, that's less than Chiarot got. Last spring. When there were oodles of LDs available. Tarasenko is easily the most attractive winger on the market.
