So yeah, I hate hate hate to cast off Lindy... but he is the most movable contract, his style of play deteriorates quickly, and LD are easy to find in UFA. I might be underpaying Cole, but he or someone else like him can play the same type of hockey.

Goodrow would be bought out before Lindgren traded imo they gain 200k for the next two years believe it or not

He has 15 team trade list too. I do you see your point on losing someone, but it would 100% be Goodrow before Lindy imo

laugh laugh Hajek is garbage, And Walman is worth a hell of a lot more than a garbage 2024 4th round pick. For that trash we just re-sign Walman.

I was referring to the Jaycob Megna trade as a comparison.

I'll be surprised if Yzerman doesn't re-sign Walman. There's no need to trade him. Contrary to CFACGM poster's beliefs, Yzerman is allowed to re-sign his own players.

He’s a pending UFA though. You’ll have the opportunity to bring him back after you sell him, no?

Have you even looked at Walmans corsi numbers at 95%? His value is a lot higher than Megna. No way would Yzerman deal Walman for such a poor return.

We can't trade every player on the roster. Maatta will likely be traded. How many times do players get traded and re-sign with the team who traded them? Almost never. There's a reason why Yzerman wanted Walman included in the Nick Leddy trade with the Blues. He saw potential and we're seeing it now because Detroit gave him an opportunity.

The value is fine but the hawks are not in the position to trade away 2023 picks.

I’m going to assume you mean 95th percentile as opposed to 95% corsi. Yes I have. Megna was 88th. I don’t see how they’re that much different rentals

You’re essentially drafting Ryan Lindgren with your pick. Like how the Stars traded their 2023 1st for Nils Lundkvist

The Blues could very well accept that, depends on what else gets offered.

Last year he said he wanted to go to NYR, NYI, or NJD. Isles just landed Horvat and I expected the Devils to land Meier. That leaves one other option grin

I get it. They may have no choice tho. It’s not overly punitive except for 25/26. They should be able to bear the years after that, it’s not even 2 mill on the books

I will say, the thing that helps is that the cap will be a lot higher by the time the buyout penalty counts against the Rangers, but realistically speaking I don’t know man. The organization clearly views him as a valuable asset in multiple dimensions. I really don’t see them cutting ties on him so quickly, unless there’s an offer they can’t refuse (like Brady Skjei three years ago)

The organization clearly views him as a valuable asset in multiple dimensions. I really don’t see them cutting ties on him so quickly, unless there’s an offer they can’t refuse (like Brady Skjei three years ago)

I don’t think they ever planned on buying him out when they signed him. But circumstances happen, in this case Chytil and Miller improving by alot is the circumstance.

Trading him may not be overly difficult either. Maybe a Seattle somethin. Teams value guys like him way more than we in the ACGM world 😂
