Why are we paying more to have Anaheim retain so little?

I like the Henrique move and bones of the deal. It’ll depend on what their plans are for KK and Necas next year though. I have a feeling they try to extend Necas long term this summer and then move him to C so they can argue his comps and save some AAV on him. Acquiring Henrique, while in line with how Donnie likes to do business, might impede that. But we’ll see.

Barabanov is a nice fit (would move him to the left and keep Fast on that line) but if we’re only making one move then I’d rather get a higher end wing to play in top 6 and spend a little more asset wise.

Barabanov trade is goodfor both sides. Although he could get a bit more. That contract is crazy valuable.

What about, putting a condition on the CAR 2024 2nd. If they make it to the Conference finals in in 2024, it upgrades to the 2024 1st.
Essentially guaranteeing that a first that CAR gives up is in the 27-32 range, and guaranteeing the Sharks aren't getting a super late 2nd that's nearly a 3rd.
