I don't think the Konecny trade moves the needle for the Flyers. More quality needed and less quantity. And Philly is certainly not retaining. Why do Leafs fans always think players they want have to be retained? Konecny isn't a rental. I even saw a Leafs CFACGM yesterday wanting Chychrun retained. Like, seriously? 🤭

The Chychrun trade is just pure fantasy land.

Think you have proved how bad this roster posted is managed. Switching Brodie to the left side, switching Reilly to the right, and having Chychrun play the right side. and then trading UFA Holl.
Chychrun is an unneeded LHD who takes up needed cap space next season. Certainly the Leafs could use 4.6m cap space next season and keep Minten, Vogt, the first, 3rd, and 5th rounders.

Retaining on contract for more than 3 years is going to cost a lot, on top of that Konecny offer needs a 1st, if you don't want to give up a first you need Knies, Robertson frankly has little value after having two years of development destroyed by injury, Hirvonen is a B tier prospect and Hollowell is a C Tier prospect, Konecny is not UFA, the flyers don't need to trade him

The lines aren't really important its pretty obvious that Rielly and Brodie were just misplaced lol. Chychrun is a better use of 4.6m in cap than most other players the Leafs could sign in FA. Leafs just signed Timmins, RHD, 2 more seasons, so 4 LHD and 3 RHD isn't exactly a problem, especially when it lets you give a 38yo Giordano rest days.

I would agree with most of this actually, in retrospect the Konecny trade does need more in it from the Leafs. I disagree about Robertson's value, he's only 21, it's just Leafs media that's distorted perspectives on him. I think a first on top of that is necessary considering the retention. I would argue it's in the Flyers interest to trade him though, since they aren't going to be competitive before he's a UFA.
