If we want to create disingenuous narratives, I’ll play. Boston doesn’t trust McAvoy with O zone starts or PP involvement, so he’s worse

A second is reasonable. I’ve most recently seen Hawks fans asking for a 1st, Niemela, and Minten

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vikhodush</b></div><div>Right, that’s what I was asking. Assume we’re talking ANA or ARI? Maybe SJS?
I don’t think any of them have incentive to do the deal without a big return either since they’d all be conscious of taking on 6M real dollars while in a rebuild and some of them having budgetary constraints. It can be sold to an owner still in that circumstance, but you better have something strong to show for it and a third rounder ain’t it.</div></div>
Idk what your fixation on a third rounder is. I didn’t say that anywhere lol

No I was just indicating chicago was not the only possible place for him to go, which we all know is true except a lot of hawks fans on here expecting massive returns

Peeke is a HUGE downgrade on Brodie. Not worth it for the cheaper contract. Furthermore, that is a god awful trade for the Leafs. An F- if they made it
Vladar being the second goalie puts way too much pressure on Woll to be our number 1 guy imo. I don’t like that move.
Nylander for Wright is something I’m on board with but Tanev coming along with him, I’d rather someone else I don’t know the logic on that one given his contract. I’d rather more picks and keeping Brodie.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vikhodush</b></div><div>Who would it be then? Not trying to pick a fight but there’s a limited amount of teams that would do this based on cap, budgetary constraints for smaller markets with cap room, etc. A third rounder isn’t incentive to take Murray on. There are other options available such as a buyout but to think another owner/gm is just gonna bail you out with real dollars at stake without using their leverage to get a maximum return is delusional.</div></div>
I’m not the one in charge of answering that question

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>80-point, Selke runner up, captain…Hischier has made a strong a case as any for #6.
McAvoy is more versatile than Fox. If a team deployed him in more offensive role, he’d match the point totals (and Norris votes). A lot like Josi In that respect. Both studs.</div></div>
I understand the desire to say if this if that, but the reality is that the Bruins haven’t deployed McAvoy that way. Until he is, I’m not rating based on speculation against a guy that is deployed that way and has the trophies. As for Hischier, there were 38 players last season with at least a point per game. 80 points is not as impressive a total as it used to be. Top 10, but I’m taking some of the guys below him first, there’s stronger cases

Do one yourself and see. Muzzin LTIR and Murray trade leaves enough cap space to sign Samsonov. You’re just delusional and hate your own team. Get a grip

You’re insane if you think the Leafs are buying out Brodie. Muzzin on LTIR and a trade or buyout of Murray puts them multiple millions under the cap. I can’t believe how many Leafs fans hope for their own team to fail

Very, very few sign and trades are made by a contending team with a year left on a keys players contract. Can you think of one?</div></div>

Yeah it’s definitely problematic at 8 years. The good news is that the cap would likely be around 115M then, and it’s also not a 35+ contract so if he retires before then, the contract just goes away.

Term is definitely scary. I’m sure he could maybe be negotiated down too. But you guys have your core locked up on really good contracts and the cap is on the verge of going up by significant amounts each season. By the time guys like Holtz, Hughes, and Nemec need extensions there will be enough cap room to accommodate

I think the contract extension is really interesting.
Pros: Vezina winner. Consistency, which in my opinion is the most important attribute of a goalie. Elite
Cons: 9.5M is a lot of money. It could age really badly in a few years a la Bobrovsky

Smith and Lazar should definitely not be roster regulars. They should be healthy scratches most nights.</div></div>
This wasn’t meant to be a complete ACGM, so I didn’t bother with singing RFAs. Similarity, not familiar with the bottom of the roster. Mostly just about the Hellebuyck trade
