I *Might* do that as Anaheim on the grounds that Hallander looks interesting and has done well in the AHL this year.

Henrique should definitely be targeted.

That package isn't going to get you Meier. Plus I'm not sure I like essentially paying Reimer almost 3mil when he's not any better than Desmith

What if the Pens added Pickering in the trade? Would the sharks do that?

That would probably be pretty close in my opinion - and I think they would definitely consider it. Obviously I don't know for sure - I'm just trying to go based on the reported asking price of a 1st round pick, A level prospect, and established young NHL player. You could make the argument that the Pens 1st round pick, Pickering, and Smith could fit those descriptions - however you could also make the argument that another team would be able to beat that offer.

I agree but looking at the recent trades of Horvat and Taresenko, while yes, I know Timo is a significantly better player especially this year, the trades were underwhelming for the seller. I think Timo goes for less than expected. And I don't think it's out of the question that the Pens can go after him and make an offer that the Sharks would choose over another teams. Will Ron Hextal actually attempt that kind of a trade is a whole different question lol

I'm not sure the returns for those 2 trades were actually that bad - mainly the Horvat one. Maybe I just had already expected lower returns than other people thought? I don't know.

Horvat is a 55 point scorer and an average defender. In return, VAN got a protected first round pick, a top 50 prospect, and a decent third liner. This is basically like the Pens giving up a first, Pickering and Kapanen. NYR definitely won their trade - but Tarasenko has been often injured and is declining and they still got a protected first + for him. Sort of like the Pens giving up a first and Ty Smith probably. So considering Meier is considered to be a better player than those two - you would have to offer a little more. Like I said, I think the first rounder, Pickering, and Smith is a decent offer and one they would have to entertain.

But yeah lol - that is the ultimate question haha

You're not wrong, I mean I know Meier will fetch more than the previous two, but I don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see haha
