Thomas Drance has said the Canucks will get at least a 2nd for Schenn. I'd be fine with a 3rd but that's the absolute floor.

JVR will get more than a 2nd TWO drafts away and an expiring UFA cap dump (he is a cap dump to PHI)

Mac Hollowell is not really a prospect anymore with any NHL future, so has little, if any value, and Schenn gets more than him and a 5th.

ROR for Voit and a 1st is not a bad starting point, (but Voit is not a bluechip prospect yet IMO), but adding Kerfoot, another cap dump, lessens the deal, because it limits what STL might do elsewhere, (take on a cap dump or trade for an expensive player under contract). Probably the only offer thats close

Who is the cap dump.? ROR and his 16 points in 37 games or the just as productive Kerfoot. It's 2023, ROR isn't worth nearly that much. Sorry all this love for ROR is unwarranted.

Agree with on the Schenn trade, nothing there for the Canucks.

I think its how they're viewed by the team acquiring. Some leaf fans think ROR is the key acquisition and overvalue, but I'd have to think that STL doesn;t view Kerfoot as anything but taking a salary back.

I think I've said it before, but Engvall, Holl, Kerfoot are valuable guys and good players, but more so to Toronto than anybody.

So it goes to the market and for some reason ROR is a big champ on the market at 3.75 and Kerfoot isn;t. While contenders wont have space for a guy they see as neglible like engvall or kerfoot, they would have them in a secxond at 50%, non contenders will view them as salary dumps.

there aren;t great TDL centers avaiulkable, so I think that inflates ROR's value, AND based on a playoff showing a few years back.

And same with Toews, people remeber what they were like and not what they are now, so will move most of heaven and earth to acquire for fairly minimal improvement

I was thinking Kerfoot could be flipped possibly with retention in a three team trade.

I didn't realize Schenn was expected to return that much, but that's fair considering his cap hit is low too. Sending a 3rd or 2nd instead could definitely be done.

For JVR maybe they make a move more like Anderson + 1st or 2nd. If he fits cap wise it probably makes more sense for the Leafs to hold Engvall anyways
