I think that borque has pretty low upside NGL, he hasnt produced at any level enough to warrant his height. The best example of someone who was able to do this would be Garland where he put up absurd points in the Q before playing in the show,

for those reasons,

I'm out

As a Stars fan, I don’t want to trade Bourque.
Garland would be a quality add though.

I think that if you trade out Boeser for the right player, you could have a decent team next year.

I think the contracts of OEL, Hughes, and Myers is really taxing on your budget. Moving Myers at 50% retention could benefit you long term.

D+1 year for Garland: 39g-89a-128p (2.09 PPG)
D+1 year for Bourque: 20g-48a-68p (2.16 PPG)

Rookie Year in AHL for Garland: 5g-9a-14p in 55 games
Rookie Year in AHL for Bourque: 8g-15a-23p in 42 games -- On pace for 13g-25a-38p

Bourque had the highest PPG in all 3 major Canadian Junior Leagues last season. He's also putting together a pretty decent rookie year on a Texas Stars team that prioritizes veterans over younger players when it comes to ice time. So I'm gonna disagree that he hasn't produced at any level to warrant the hype surrounding him.

I'm not saying Bourque is a surefire, top-line, all-star caliber Center at the NHL level, but he's absolutely still on track to be at worst a middle-6, playmaking Center. Dallas will hold on to Bourque, who at worst looks like a young version of Conor Garland.

But many guys have that start, but Garland absolutely exploded in his 3rd year to the point that he got called up and stayed,

But I think that this trade would probably be something that the canucks look at

He’s 5’10, not too small to play, and he put up crazy numbers
