Chychrun

Created by: tkecanuck341
Team: 2022-23 Los Angeles Kings
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2023
Published: Feb. 13, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Vilardi was offered along with a 1st round pick last summer and Arizona turned it down. I'm sure they're regretting that decision right now.

That offer is no longer on the table due to Vilardi's breakout season, but the Kings might still consider it if Arizona was willing to take Petersen's contract.

That was a little more then disagreeing, calling strikes while obviously not having knowledge of players involved. How am I the troll? I've just disagreed

I'm sorry what? My only comment on vilardi was that he isn't a prospect as he was drafted six years ago and is just one year younger than chychrun.

Peterson has negative value seeing as no one wanted him for free when he was on waivers

I don't think it would take a 1st to dump Petersen's contract. It's not that bad.

I think Vilardi + 2nd for Chychrun would be a fair swap though. Throwing in Petersen bumps the 2nd to a 1st.

I disagree strongly.

Vilardi is having a nice season. He is also shooting 19.3% and injured again. His breakout season also has him on a 56 point pace, nice, but not crazy.

I would say vilardi, 2023 1st and something else that has positive value is fair FROM A VALUE PERSPECTIVE. Not wanting to include vilardi is fair, but we are talking value wise

Short of the 1st overall pick for Bedard, I don't think the Kings would move Vilardi for any 1st round pick this season, even if that meant getting a guy like Fantilli or Michkov. His value is worth more than "first round equivalent," so to include him as equal value someone like Turcotte doesn't make sense.

Vilardi on his own would merit a 1st and a "top prospect" on his own. The asking price for Chychrun has been "two firsts (or prospect equivalents) and a prospect." I think that Vilardi is every bit as good as two 1sts in this situation. If Arizona wanted a non-first equivalent prospect (Grans, Madden, ****emo, etc.) instead of the 2nd, then I'm sure that they would consider that as well. Then the Kings would just include the 2nd instead of the 1st for Petersen retention. Vilardi + Petersen + Grans + 2nd for Chychrun would be acceptable as well.

Vilardi missed some time with a short-term injury, but he's back now. He's staking in a full-contact jersey and expected back in Friday's game against Anaheim.

I'm sorry, I just disagree. Just a wild valuation on vilardi IMO

Watch him play. He's very often the best player on the ice, and that includes guys like Kempe, Kopitar, Byfield, and Fiala.

You didn't make any arguments in your post, so there was nothing to rebut.

You know for a fact LA rejected a better offer than your but by some magical twisted logic still think it makes sense. Keep believing they will change their mind, but that's not how making business work.

Have fun making up a rebutal from thin air.

Do I? At the beginning of the season, there were discussions about whether or not Vilardi was going to be put on waivers because he hadn't yet emerged and he lost his exemption this season. His trade value before the season wasn't very much. This season, he has emerged as one of the single best players on the Kings. His value is light years beyond what it was 6 months ago.

So saying that an offer of a 1st + Vilardi this past summer has very little bearing on whether a 1st + Vilardi offer would be accepted or rejected now.

So you still know nothing, Jon Snow.

I did. In my earlier post I said that Chychrun was worth Vilardi + 2nd, and that adding in Petersen's contract, it bumped the 2nd round pick to a 1st.

You're the one that said that the deal that was rejected last summer would be rejected again, implying that Arizona would not accept Vilardi + 1st for Chychrun.

I'll keep it simple for you

1st+Vilardi > 1st+Vilardi+Petersen

NO > Hell NO

1st+Vilardi > 1st+Vilardi+Petersen

NO > Hell NO

I understand that, but Vilardi now >>>> Vilardi last summer.

So yes, 1st + Vilardi (July 2022) > 1st + Vilardi (July 2022) + Petersen

but

1st + Vilardi (July 2022) < 1st + Vilardi (Feb 2023) + Petersen

Im starting to wonder if something happened and the deal fell apart

As the last time I saw Arizona hold out a player (i.e. Lybushkin) he was traded that night to Toronto

I feel a deal was close but someone pulled out. Still could be negotiating but either Pete shot it down, Arizona thought they were getting Clarke, or something happened

Maybe the trade happens tomorrow or Chycrun goes to another team idk something fishy is going on

There was a report from last night from Friedman saying there was a deal close to going through, but there was a hangup on a minor unnamed piece.
