Wild Next Offseason

Created by: Cdc3514
Team: 2023-24 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 27, 2023
Published: Feb. 14, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think that getting Boeser will help in the obvious area that MN needs help, getting second line scoring to pair with Boldy. I know that VAN is hesitant to retain salary, but I think if given the right package they would be willing to do something like this where they only retain $1,662,500. Before anyone comments on the return teams are getting for trades, I didn't really put much thought into trade returns, this is more to see how the Wild can make a Boeser trade work with the cap next year.

I'm not a Sharks fan and I can tell you no team is going to trade a 2nd round pick for a guy who is making 3 million and has 6 points.

As for the Canucks trade no team is going to take on over 3 million in salary for a 4th round. The Canucks had to give up a second to dump Dickenson's 2.65 mil and we also had to take Stillman back. It cost the Flames a first to offload Monahan. The Canucks are willing to retain money but it if you want Boeser it would probably cost you a pick and Faber.

Like I said in the description, this thread wasn't really focusing on trade returns, it was more about how the wild can make a Boeser trade work within the cap next year. But just interested what you think, how high of a pick along with Faber do you think it would take for Boeser?

Greenway would have been 7th on the Sharks in points last year and 3rd on the Sharks in points two years ago. He's having a down year this year no doubt, but hes still 25 years old plays a good defensive game and has shown the ability to score in the past.

Come on man, 6 points this year and making $3 mil the next two seasons. Back in high school I scored 3 goals in a game, another piece of info that doesn’t matter just like greenway the last two years. Try maybe a 6th for that production at that cost of $500,000 a fudging point.

If you want to argue if he’s worth a 2nd or not that’s your opinion, but Sharks fans acting like their team is somehow above Jordan Greenway is hilarious to me. He’s 25 years old with 5 years of NHL experience and has averaged 27 pts/year the last 4 years. But you’re right just ignore everything he’s done before this year. He probably forgot how to play hockey.

You mean he’s averaged 0.33 ppg? Oh my sell the far for him! I think he would be fine on San Jose if Minny ate half his contract and San Jose got him for like a 6th

It would entirely depend on how much of the Boeser contract the Wild would need the Canucks to retain to make the trade work. Anything more then 1.65 and I'd say a second.
