Nice trade. Steep price to pay but this would push the Jets further into the Finals this year. I would definitely want this to be a sign Meier and trade scenario.

Problem with the logic of this trade is that SJ has no use for Ehlers or Schmidt if they are blowing things up by trading their top two players. They would want futures not other players to compete, otherwise they would just keep Meier and Karlsson. So this is definitely no unless you add more of your top assets and just send players you consider as cap dumps with little to no value.

Karlsson isn't waiving for Winnipeg and with no retention is a negative value asset.

The remainder is a tremendous overpay for Meier.
