There is no incentive to even make this trade for Nashville the only piece they would be interested in would be the 1st. The rest would be seen as cap dumps for Edmonton. And we’re retaining on Ekholm yea a 1st and broberg and what ever contracts you wanna dump on us would be the ask

For NSH to retain on Ekholm and take back the two cap dumps, this offer's a little light. If EDM were to offer their 1st in 24 or 25 instead of Schaefer though, we've got a deal.

Doesn’t your team lack defense though. Karlsson is the last defenseman you guys need in my opinion. I like Edmonton and would hate to see that team go after another player that doesn’t play defense. I’m stuck on the broberg and a 1st plus a dump to make the cap work for Ekholm.

I'm looking at it as a 1st & a 2nd for Ekholm & a 3rd. Then another 1st for multi year retention on Ekholm, and sending two cap dumps back.

Personally, I wouldn't touch Karlsson. Yeah, him having a career season at out of nowhere at this age is mind-boggling. But he's still as bad defensively as he's ever been, and that contract is an anchor at anything but his current production. He's definitely going to come back down to earth again. It's not like producing offence is an issue for EDM anyway. They need another defenceman who'll play some defence.
