Toronto should be eyeing someone to play with Gio in a shutdown role

Last year we had Muzzin-Brodie

This year its Gio-Holl which is okay but come playoffs I dont feel its enough

Im eyeing Flames Tanev but thats if they are out by the TDL

I'm just not sure if anyone other than Brodie can play with Reilly right now which makes it a bit tougher. I agree we need a shutdown pair and Tanev would be nice

Lybushkin played well with Rielly last year allowing Brodie to drop Tanev would be perfect for Rielly based on playstyles

Tanvev would be a dream but the Flames aren't going to sell, their window is closing not opening.

If they are out by the TDL Treliving might try to collect assets while also trying to make it and Kylington is coming back soon

Fair, I just don't think its realistic but I would love it.

If the Leafs want to primarily play ROR as 2C then it would be ideal to trade Engvall and Holl and get a shutdown RD and 3C. If we filled those two holes you really can't blame Dubas if we don't win a round.

As is I think I'd be concerned still about Tampa. Our top 6 isn't significantly better than theirs and Nick Paul at 3C will run over Kampf.

Montour is 7th in dman scoring. Above Makar, Josi and everyone on your team. And you want retention, for next season, too.😬😬

Definitely closer to a 40-50 point guy than what he's showing this year

Yeah, but you are still buying high on him. Why would the Panthers sell him as a 40-point guy when he is not that right now?

Montour is not an UFA. And that package sure would be good for a 40-point UFA dman. Montour is not that.

Hes a UFA in one year, they aren't using him this season as they aren't making the yoffs. They lose a good player for one season who will walk at the end for a first and good prospect

Yeah, still no, they could get much more grin. Montour's at worst a great top4 player for 3,5M. At best he is a no 1 dman, like right now. And it's still 50/50 whether the Panthers make it or not. Selling isn't in their interest since they have no picks.
