There's no way the Oilers give up the guy who was their top C prospect who still has a year left on his ELC for a disgruntled prospect that needs to be resigned and isn't even doing well.

edmonton should definitely trade the young player that is cost controlled and has chemistry with mcdavid.

Similar stats in the same amount of games. If things were reversed then Holloway would be considered failing and Kravy would be the valuable prospect who plays well with, fill in a name, and whose upside is higher. Kravy's recent trade report was if you are not committed to playing me then trade me; reasonable. He has played well enough to be in the top 9. GG has stated he is not here to develop and Kravy is still an NHL-ready prospect whose style doesn't mesh well enough with GG to play as he learns. It would be nice if GG reevaluated his outlook on this as cheap depth is needed next year.

There's no reason though for Edmonton to consider moving their guy who they really like fits, is younger, and has more term if Kravtsov isn't more developed. If Kravtsov had like 30-40 points then the Oilers could justify making the move perhaps. The question then becomes "can we afford Kravtsov going forward and is he a better fit?". If Kravtsov is doing the same and there's no issues with Holloway, it doesn't make any sense.

Yes, if Holland is that high on him. The reasons would be due to the Oiler's cap heck, Holloway's injury, and maybe being able to fit in an extra player for the stretch run. Kravy could be a great style fit. There might be something there that could make it work but less likely given Holland.

Kravstov is going to be more expensive next year so there is no benefit to the cap. Holloway being injured is also irrelevant for now because they can't even play him until they fix their cap issues, same is for Kravtsov who would have to be placed on waivers and will surely get claimed.

The kind of swap that would help the Oilers is Kravtsov for Puljujarvi but they would need to retain 50% and even then Drury is probably not interested. I think Drury would go for a waiver exempt player like Holloway or for a first round pick if he can get one (even if it's a future one) or two seconds. Trading for Tanner Jeannot might be an interesting option for Drury as well if he does become available.

I was talking about the cap issues in the current year, but he shouldn't cost too much next year either. If they cannot find a way to fit in a player that costs $437,500 this year, then yes the trade surely will not happen.
