Definitely considered him but, I decided to show Tyler Johnson some love. He made one of the prettiest long range passes off the boards, perfectly in stride tonight to set up a goal, scored a goal and also had the GWSOG tonight and it reminded me of how good and forgotten of a player he is.

Thompson is not underrated, and Husso is overrated if anything. Husso has a negative GSAx per moneypuck; he is below average

Most hockey fans know how good Tage Thompson is but, he is still a lesser/unknown superstar generally speaking. Do you have a replacement suggestion?

I take it you don’t catch many Red Wings games? Husso has arguably been the MVP for the wings this year and in his last dozen or so games he’s been one of the better goalies in the NHL with a .923 sv pct and 2.37 gaa.

I’d recommend watching a Wings game when you have a chance.

A dozen good games does not make Husso above average for the whole season. The biggest knock on him last year was his wild inconsistency, and if he's only so close to average because he was buoyed by a hot streak, that means he was really bad to start the year. I think you might have a touch of homerism there.

How many games have you watched the Red Wings play this year outside of Devils games?

If not for the past 2-3 years I’d have said Stamkos. Everyone kinda wrote him off with the major injuries he’s had, but he’s really bounced back and honestly taken his game to another level in becoming a more complete player.

I think you’re overreacting. He’s missed a majority of this season but beyond that, he did miss a few weeks in each of the two prior seasons but I wouldn’t call that “hardly playing”. Prior to this season, despite the couple injuries he’s dealt with the two previous seasons, he’s still played over 88% of Columbus’ possible games in his career.
