Description

Can Lawson Crouse be the consultation prize for missing out on Meier? Similar style of play, but Meier is essentially Crouse’s absolute ceiling (and their contracts will reflect that next year). NJs problem is more physicality and defensive breakdowns by Smith and Severson (can’t stand either one, and just needed to get my shot in) than it is offensive numbers.

From last years rumors, the asking price for Crouse was a 1st and a roster player. Muk becomes ARZs best defensive prospect and may be more developed than any defenseman ARZ would pick if NJ sent over their late first rounder this year. Yegor is an RFA and can slot in anywhere in their lineup.

I was going to add a conditional pick from ARZ that would improve for NJ if Yegor was a 20 goal and/or 50 point player, but I don’t even know if the values I have are correct in the current proposal.

I wouldn't give up this much for Crouse. I'd rather a cheap rental if we miss on Meier.

Who would you sign via FA if you miss on Meier and trade for a cheap rental ?
Because yes it's a big price for Crouse but he would fit nicely IMO
But Meier is worth it

I like crouse for the devils and I think he would be a great add for the team but not if they have to give up sharan a roster player for a roster player Isn’t worth it

Depends who is available, both to sign and to trade. Obviously Pastrnak would be the big guy. Tarasenko would be interesting but I worry about his UFA price given his age.

The worry with overpaying for Crouse is making a deadline move just for the sake of it. If it comes to it, we'll see who is available for trade this summer. Marino for example was unexpected
