GMDW: My message to you is as follows. **** them picks. **** them prospects. This is the year. Crack some heads.

No, this will never happen. Yes, this is an outrageous amount to pay just in general. God it's fun to imagine though.

Trades
1.
CAR
  1. Domi, Max ($1,500,000 retained)
  2. Johnson, Jack
  3. Kane, Patrick ($5,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
I do wonder if Domi can keep playing center for Rod, but his faceoff numbers are good, his defensive numbers are fine if not good, and he puts up points. Rod likes to have two centers on each line and righty Necas has been taking more and more faceoffs, so I think they'll be put together.

Patrick Kane sounds like a great piece to put next to Sebastian Aho. Kane has the playmaking abilities first (28 assists) and goal scoring second (14 goals) so putting him on Fishy's wing sounds like a recipe for success.

Jack Johnson because why the hell not. When Slavin went down earlier this year, our 3rd pair was De Haan/Coghlan. I think that Jack Johnson is worse than both of those two players, but he's better than either of Lagesson or Lajoie, so if we need blueline help, he's there. Plus intangibles, playoff experience championship pedigree blah blah blah.
CHI
  1. Drury, Jack
  2. Ponomarev, Vasili ($3 retained)
  3. Rees, Jamieson ($2 retained)
  4. Suzuki, Ryan ($1 retained)
  5. 2023 1st round pick (CAR)
  6. 2023 5th round pick (VAN)
  7. 2024 2nd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
No, this trade does *not* have the Hurricanes sending all three of Suzu, Rees, and Pono to Chicago. Only one is going with Jack and I put them in order of most likely to lease likely with the retention dollar things there.

Drury is going to be in a trade that nets the Hurricanes a top 6 scoring center, he just kind of has to be.
2.
CAR
  1. Meier, Timo ($3,000,000 retained)
SJS
  1. Alexander Nikishin, Scott Morrow
  2. Gunler, Noel
  3. Koivunen, Ville
  4. 2023 3rd round pick (PHI)
  5. 2023 6th round pick (CHI)
  6. 2024 1st round pick (CAR)
  7. 2025 2nd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Meier is going to cost suns and moons and nebulae between. I think our top two winger prospects plus one of Nikishin or Morrow (I imagine that, of the two, they'd want to send Morrow, but I'm not sure) and then all them picks.

Worth, though.

I tried to be creative with listing priority, and it turned out really funny. Honestly, I'm gonna start doing funny retention numbers for all my trades.

If Kane will waive for Carolina, I think the Hawks would go for this. Value is fair, and this deal actually addresses the Hawks biggest organisational need - young F prospects. Of the 3 listed, Hawks probably shoot for Ponomarev or Suzuki. Suzuki's injury history is a concern. Personally, I'd like to have a Russian player in the organization
