Seattle doesn't consider that. Donato is producing as much as Kerfoot, at 1/3 the cost. The Kraken wouldn't swap them 1-for-1, let alone give up a much better draft pick in the process.

That's fair tbh, the trade was more so to recoup the second round pick. Would you do Donskoi + 2nd for Kerfoot?

Maybe if Burakovsky is out long-term and the Kraken need another forward, but truthfully I think there are much better targets Seattle could go after with one of their 2023 2nds. A defenseman with term to potentially supplant Soucy or an upgrade at goalie would probably be wiser investments.
